![]() | Re: Olds Fans: There is an Olds Super for Sale! Hi rbdeli, Difficult... The Strad 37 serial No. 1691xx I use for most group work concerts. So I play it then clean it, and don't use it much apart from that. There are 2 other Bachs that get used less frequently, a 43 and another 37. The rest I tend to rotate around with rehersals and daily practice. The Bb horns are used probably over 2 weeks. The C,D,Eb s are not used often. The piccs are even less, but I do play them all over the month. The heavy brass and troms get a work-out once a month. I am learning trombone, so play one on Fridays, and usually another during the week. The favourite take anywhere is the Chinese BG Bb (a copy of Yamaha Morrison 6335). There is a Conn New Wonder Cornet Ser No. 2753xx kept on the piano next to the recliner, it gets used when I just need a quickie... BTW I am not a good player, but just love playing (hate practice - which is probably why I am not a good player), and love to listen to others. We have no kids, and work about 1 week a month...so a lot of time spare.

![]() | Re: Olds Fans: There is an Olds Super for Sale! LOL.."not a good player". I would expect one with so many horns to make a modest statement like that. Thanks for the stories behind all of these instruments. Any particular horns you've got your eyes on that you just GOTTA have if you find?

![]() | Re: Olds Fans: There is an Olds Super for Sale! I think the serial # is in listing, later horn, loud projection in those years in my experience.... Raw brass is the same as lacquered brass. Lacquered brass is polished then the lacquer is applied to retain the shine..... Looks to be a horn worth $400.00-600.00 in my opinion. No, I don't know the horn or the seller.....

![]() | Re: Olds Fans: There is an Olds Super for Sale! It looks good, but they do not ship to Australia... I would really love an Olds Recording (rose bell) - in great shape, but less than AUS$1,000 (US$800), or there is Custom charges etc. I know it is almost unrealistic, but somewhere it exists and is waiting for me...and I am waiting as well. Cheers
