Re: Olds FlugalHorn

I think Olds made two or three models over the years. Probably the most common is the L-12, which has a rose brass bell. Here's a picture of mine, a late 60's model.

Go to this site and look through some of the catalog links for a lot of info on "old" Olds horns. Olds Central: Information on trumpets and cornets by F. E Olds and Son 1928-1979

I have a Reynolds from the Abilene period, beautiful playing horn and almost exactly the same as the Olds of the same time period.
They come up on ebay from time to time

One of my buds that just graduated high school had his own Olds flugelhorn. Not sure of the model, though...

Re: Olds FlugalHorn

I play an Olds Flugelhorn. Its a custom model that was made for Zeke Zarchy and Irving Bush in the 60's. I think only two were made. I have Zeke's. They were engraved by the factory with each of their names.

I believe they were patterned after the Clark Terry CT model. I love the horn... I play it almost every day.
