With the economy crashed like it has, does it seem the trumpets are selling a bit more competitively on eBay?
My guess is, yes, they are.

Vintage Trumpets
The Easier, More efficient way to Find Used Trumpets.
So, what is your theory on why that is? Inflation hedge? People looking for a diversion from their financial woes? Buying used instead of new? H1N1 is a 'code' name for the N+1 Virus?

Basic law of economics: Higher demand=higher prices, unless there is an abundant supply, which holds prices down. Scarcity of a high-demand item means getting more for the item, unless the government puts a "program" in place to regulate it. Maybe the healthcare bill will have a price ceiling on vintage horns...???

I was playing once and afterwards, a little boy approached me and stated that he played the trumpet. I asked, "Do you play like I do?" and he replied, "I used to."

Actually...there IS a "cap" on politician's salaries (federal, I know of)...but "salary" does NOT included whatever else may be made "on the side" (or under the table, as appropriate).
