lmf has a spectacular aura about
Pan-American Bb Trumpet

Hi,

Recently, the local historical museum of which I am associated with received a Pan- American trumpet - Serial #114425 - which we want to display in one of our musical exhibits.

On the engraving it says: Pan- American Elkhart IND U.S.A.

Of course, we are not selling it, but wanted more information about the horn for narrative purposes.

Any help would be appreciated.

Best wishes!

Lloyd

Re: Pan-American Bb Trumpet

Like stated previously, it was probably made by Conn.

Another interesting note. Recently on a sax site that I frequent,
a poster showed pics of a PanAM Tenor sax that was without a doubt, a Martin .
Up until then, Myself and many, many others, thought that ALL PanAMs were Conn made.
After all, Conn owned the Pan American line, and promoted it as their student/intermediate line.
I wonder if Conn ever had PanAm trumpets/cornets made by some other
manufacturer also ? Has anyone out there seen or heard of such a thing ?

Hi Toobz,

The Pan-American Trumpet that I am talking about has a Martin (#8) mouthpiece.

Best wishes,

Lloyd
