 | Prohaska mouthpiece Does anybody know anything about a mouthpiece manufacturer named "J.V. Prohaska"? The mouthpiece I started out on as a kid was a trumpet mouthpiece that came with the cornet that was previously used by my grandfather and later by my mother when she was in high school in the mid-1940s. Apparently the original Buescher cornet mouthpiece that came with the horn was lost, and this oddball trumpet mouthpiece was used as a replacement. The mouthpiece is marked "J.V. PROHASKA MAKER NEW YORK", and has a "9" and a "D", with the "9" stamped above the "D". The cup is somewhat conical rather than cup-shaped. I Googled "prohaska mouthpiece" with no result. |
