I'm searching for a current source of information on York trumpets. There have been links to websites in the past but the ones I found are no longer active. I think I understand the basic history of York but I'm looking for more information on the various trumpets they made. I recently bought one but I'm not really sure what I have. The only engraving on the bell says York Custom Trumpet and there is also a name engraved of J.C. Burne but that may have been the original owner's name. At any rate, this is a beautiful horn with what appears to be a copper bell, a tone ring on the bell and a flat bell bead. It also has the micrometer main tuning slide. The third slide ring is on the bottom. Does anyone know where I can go to learn more about these horns? Thanks in advance--Ken B.

Horn-u-copia site is very active. Lots of pictures, history , etc on Yorks. OLDLOU on TH and maybe this one used to work there many years ago and has a collection and lots of info.
