Mendez, i just sold a 1960 Olds Mendez on eBay this weekend for 775. Look up the horn on completed listings. The buyer wants measurements of the taper of the bell tail starting just before the 1st valve to the lead pipe and ending at the closest gap between bell tail and lead pipe ( not to include the extra thickness at the very end of the lead pipe. Can you check any of your Olds's with a caliper and verify my findings. I found the taper of the Mendez and LA Olds Ambassador to be .0148" and .0153 respectively. On a separate note my 49 Committee measured .004" at same locations.

I've got a Super just like it only a few digits lower s/n. Has the widest tone ring made for the Super with deep chiseled by hand engraving. Cut down 1st and third slides not seen on another Olds horn until the 1970s Custom Crafted trumpets. I don't find it tight like later early Supers. Great horn, lightweight with minimal bracing... truly a special trumpet
