Trumpetguy is an unknown quantity at this point
Top Hat and Cane Buescher 400 Lightweight Trumpet

I purchased This Instrument about 2 years ago. It is one of the nicest lead horns I have ever played. It has a obverse tuning slide (starting on the leadpipe side and going under the horn and connecting to the left bottom side of the Valve casings. this has put the 1st, 2nd and 3rd tuning slides on the right side of the horn below the leadpipe. The Serial number is #332332 and there is a small LP right below the serial number. towards the bottom of the 2nd valve it is stamped Buescher True Tone and a number below that #217. That is all I know about the horn. can anyone tell me the bore size or year it was made...

oldlou has a spectacular aura aboutoldlou has a spectacular aura about
Buescher 400

The L P means that your old horn was built to modern Low Pitch A=440 standard. The bore size is easy to find. Take your trumpet to some machinist, who can measure the inside diameter of the second valve tuning slide with a dial or digital caliper. The date of manufacture can be found on any of several web sites by serial number.
