| Pianissimo User | Valves on old Getzen Eterna not feeling so good... (Moderators, please move this if I put it in the wrong section) Hello everyone! I play a 1968 Getzen Eterna Severinsen model, and I've been having some issues with my valves lately. They're starting to feel slow and not very stiff at all. Can this be fixed by getting new valve springs? If so, does anybody have an idea of where I can get some from? Also, I have a much larger issue with my third valve. I don't really know how to describe it, so I'm including a picture: Sorry that it's kind of blurry, but I think you get the idea. This has been there for as long as I can remember (I got the horn from my dad about five years ago). It got slightly better after I had my trumpet chem cleaned, but came back after that. If anyone has any ideas, they're greatly appreciated! Also, my third slide doesn't seal basically at all. It got to the point where I had to buy a little plastic piece to keep the slide from falling off when I put my trumpet on a stand...is this bad? Is it easily fixed? I was just looking at all the flaws in my trumpet the other day, and I must say when I get them all written in one place, it's kind of alarming! Thanks for reading this, and thanks for any ideas! |

I think one of the Getzens reads this thread from time to time. With the age of your horn there may be a charge, but if you really like the horn and want to keep it contact them. |

Those old Severinsons are great horns. I had one in my hand a few seconds ago. I keep trying other horns and keep coming back to this one. |
