 | Very OLD Josef Lidl b Trumpet info PLease Hello, Im hoping someone here may be able to help us! We have a antique Josef Lidl trumpet that we know not much about.The case appears to be original.It is like a pinkish aligator print case and wool lined.The mouth piece is a 7c.We are selling it but it is hard to find any info or what kind of players are interested in these antique trumpets.If anyone could share some info I would greatly appreciate it.  andreaandsammy@shaw.ca so much! |

| Re: Very OLD Josef Lidl b Trumpet info PLease It doesn't ring a bell for me, perhaps another member may know. The identfying of an older horn can be very difficult. Many major companies built horns for smaller retailers like music stores, department stores ... These are what's known as stencil horns. You may have a stencil horn, or it may be a builder I am unfamiliar with. If you can post some pics, there are many savvy members who are quite adept at identifying older horns. Good luck !

The company is located in the Czech Republic in the city of Brno (Brunn). Here is the website. Send them a mail with the serial #, maybe they can tell you something! Josef Lídl spol. s r.o.

| Re: Very OLD Josef Lidl b Trumpet info PLease I finally heard back from the Josef Lidl website.The trumpet is a Bb Concert(rotary Valve) trumpet.They do not have records for a serial number that old.They estimate it was maybe made around 1950.However,they never gave me an estimated value.So Im still wondering.......what would the value be?...... |
