![]() | Vintage Bach Case? I have an old 1930 Bronx Bach. Does anyone know if the early horns came with cases? If they did, has anyone ever seen one? I have seen vintage Bach cases from Mt Vernon and early Elkhart periods. I am a little curious about cases that went with the early horns? |

![]() | Re: Vintage Bach Case? Hello, I sent the Bach Loyalist site some photos of older Bach cases I had or still have and the pix are posted here: BachLoyalist.com - Trumpet "Know Your Brasses" There are 2 or 3 styles I've seen from that period shown there. |

Fred -- One of my New York Bachs (I have a couple) is lacking the proper case. Just curious -- what is the "tariff" on one of these? I'm not fanatical about matching up proper cases with respective horns, but it would be appropriate, in this case (I know -- awful pun). Yr Fthfl Srvnt, Robt

Robt - Hail my friend! The cases I have are embedded with brassy objects but I have seen them offered on Ebay for extremely outrageous prices. For the DIYer, if one had a nice old black case like any of those pictured, one could print the Bach logo and take it to an engraver and have a small plate made for $10-20 I would guess and then scratch it up with a brillo pad and -- viola -- there you have it! Only one's hairdresser would know...for sure...and as long as one didn't try to pass it off as original to a potential buyer, your vintage Bach would be perfectly happy with the "faux" case. When you can't make do, do make... | |
