Zaraskabat, thanks for the reply. I had thought it must be the browser, I'll load Firefox and give it a try.
Regards,
Dale.

Re: VINTAGE HORN EYE CANDY

Please, folks, eye candy for this section. That means pretty pictures of pretty horns for the rest of us to lust after, not whinings. And as someone who's owned Macs for over 20 years and used them longer than that, it's not your browser, it's not following the instructions carefully. Look back a few pages at this one, posted from a Mac and running Safari (although I do use Firefox as well):

Re: VINTAGE HORN EYE CANDY

Sorry, dameyn, I was responding to multiple posts and mixed up the problems. But my point was that this forum is specifically for eye candy. But you're not the only one who can't see the .jpg you referenced, and it's not your browser. Trust your browser when it tells you that you're looking at "clear.gif 1X1 pixels" - that's a very good indication there's nothing to see there. That's a common problem with many online services unless they happen to have abundant server space and make it available for their members' photo postings. When the poster must use a file sharing service - PhotoBucket, for example - images are subject to being removed to satisfy user file space limits, or displaced by new ones, or in the case of some services, simply aged off.
Other than the case of the missing image you mention, the only time I've had any problems seeing images here or on TH is when I'm simply lurking between log-in sessions. As long as I'm logged in, no problems with either Safari or Firefox.

Re: VINTAGE HORN EYE CANDY

My apologies for my mediocre photography skills, but here are my four "vintage" pieces.

Left-to-right:
1928 Gretsch Pathfinder (Couesnon) Bb/A trumpet
1964 Olds Mendez cornet
1966 Olds Ambassador cornet
1969(?) LeBlanc 707 Sonic trumpet.
