| New Friend | Vintage Olds Ambassador Hey guys, I found a 1966 Olds Ambassador the other day! I've read things on this board about them, are they generally good or valuable instruments? What all could I do to preserve this horn? I wouldn't like to spend more than $400 restoring it (even that is a little high right now). Is it worth it? I can post pictures of it on request. Thank you all very much |

![]() | Re: Vintage Olds Ambassador The older ones made in L.A. are the ones most people want. I've owned two and was not impressed by either. It's a well-built student/intermediate horn that will not be worth $400, even restored. There are too many of them out there, so supply and demand sets the value.

![]() | Re: Vintage Olds Ambassador The Ambassador is a rugged, inexpensive horn that plays VERY well. I suggest that you put it in a gig bag and keep it in the car to play anytime you have a minute or two. The big value is that you can get the joy of playing without the worry of hurting an expensive instrument.
