| Vintage Selmer Paris trumpet shank size? Hi, I just purchased a 1949 Selmer Paris trumpet on ebay. It's not a K-modified trumpet. I haven't recieved it yet and the guy I bought it from said his standard bach mouthpiece seemed to fit fine. Would this horn have a european shank size (is that smaller or larger than a standard trumpet shank?)? Do I need to look into finding a mouthpiece adaptor? Thanks so much....chad |

| Re: Vintage Selmer Paris trumpet shank size? I don't think the receiver will be dramatically different in size. Depending on your mouthpiece, you may need to tweak the gap for best performance. |

The Morse taper seems the same among trumpet mouthpieces across the world, and there was a pretty big gap. If you want to adjust a mouthpiece and not mess with your horn, a machinist can just shave the mouthpiece, keeping the same taper. |
