You might search this forum for comments on this topic because if memory serves me, some have noted that Yamaha has not published the serial numbers. I have never heard of a patrentek but I have a YTR232 and it is a predecessor to the later 4-digit YTR2320-series. I would guess that mine dates back to the 1970's or 80's but that is all I know.

Sorry, there aren't any sources for Yamaha known. They don't keep obtainable records. There have been many queries on this subject in the past.

I think the YTR 232 was from the 90's, precursor to the more recent 2320 and up and a basic student horn.
