    York Airflow

Have anyone ever played a York Airflow Trumpet? Looks weird but at the same time beautiful Imo. Also do you know where it's possible to get one and what would and average price be?

Here's a link for those who haven't seen it.

http://www.trumpetmaster.com/vb/f140...ets-39189.html (Vintage York trumpets and cornets) Here is an old thread on Yorks horns. OLDLOU has both the trumpet and Cornet versions of the Airfow. Very nice players, but very rare and go for thousand's when someone does want to part with one.

I.e., when someone dies but has no heirs to play it. Maybe once every five years one will come up for auction?

York Band Instrument Co. built the Airflow trumpets and cornets for a short time in each of two years, 1939 and 1940. They were designed by A.J.'Bill' Johnson and he did not sell the rights or patents to Carl Fischer when he was bought out of York in 1940. This means that the number of Airflows is very small and was a long time ago. This also means an attrition in numbers by virtue of years. Every year there becomes a lesser number of them available. Considering their cosmetic beauty, their rarety and their extreme playability, it is imperitive that their market prices will rise exponentially. THANK YOU LORD!!!
