Three and a half years later I would also like any info available on vintage York cornets.

Were they quality instruments?
What kind of tone?
What bore sizes?
How to identify different York models?

You can find a lot of great information on the York and Son's brass instruments on the forum link listed below. I own 1897 York cornet, and love it. Play it every year on a fourth of July gig that I do here in WV with a concert band. Great craftmanship.

As the York moderator on the mentioned site, I do thank WVtrumpet for his referral and recomendation to find more information about any vintage brass musical instrument. Our site is far from perfect or complete, but, the more respondents we acquire, the greater the accumilated knowledge.
