| New Friend | Playing with Metallica What was it like playing with Metallica for their S&M album? I could tell that the brass players were smokin', but it was too bad you guys got so buried by the engineers in the final mixing. I listened to nothing but "classical" music up until about high school, then I discovered that I loved Metallica and some other, more "mainstream" music too. I tried to be a snob and force myself to not like it, but I just couldn't keep up the act. |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Playing with Metallica Hi Dave, The Metallica gig was a lot of fun and it paid great! I was the opposite of you. I didn't really listen to anything classical until late in high school. My music culture growing up was mostly watching a TV variety show called Hee Haw. (No I'm not kidding.) Does anyone out there remember Hee Haw? Anyway I listened to mostly country music until middle school and then I got hit with the head banger bug. So playing with Metallica was especially exciting for me because I liked them growing up. Thanks for the post. Best, Andrew Last edited by amtrpt : 02-29-2008 at 09:57 AM. |
