Today is a banner day for lead players. Three of the greatest, born on the same day......different years
I knew two of them, Bernie and Ernie. I am going to put on my copy of Porgy and Bess. they're both on it.

Hi Wilmer

Did you ever hear Gozzo live?
On recordings, he had an unbelieveable strength of personality.
I've been listening to him lately on some Nelson Riddle stuff and he was an animal ( albeit a musical animal)
