Bjorling

What a voice!
There is a quality in his voice I try to get in my sound.

Alex Yates has a little shameless behaviour in the past
Ahhhhh, great taste Wilmer. Jussi is one of the all time best. What power and beauty wrapped into one. I have several recordings of his, mostly on vinyl, and always liked his voice and musicianship.

Tebaldi was no schlep either. I love her! Thank you for posting this jewel. Ahhhhhh..........I have replayed it three times already.

Manny Laureano has a spectacular aura about
Bud's favorite singer or at least way back when he was younger. Who knows, he may have heard/worked with someone else afterwards that moved him as wlell or more.

Just gorgeous nonetheless. And he took the high C option along with Renata; always an exciting moment for opera lovers while they anxious wonder whether the tenor du jour will "go for it".

Thanks, Wilmer,

ML

I have just recently started listening to Opera, even though I have played the first trumpet part in Il Banda in the opera Aida.

This was a wonderful clip. I will have to look for more from these singers.

Clarino is an unknown quantity at this point
That's fantastic Wilmer, thanks for sharing. I'm a huge fan of Bjorling. Being a bit of a tenor myself I often use recordings of him and Placido Domingo to inspire my sound concept.

Such musicality! Some day............

Bud's teacher, Georges Mager, was a tenor, a very fine singer I am told.
Jussi Bjorling is mentioned in "Trumpet Profiles" by several players as being an admired musician.

Rgale has a spectacular aura about
The La Boheme recording with Beecham conducting. His Calaf in Turandot.

They don't come better than that.

Johntpt is on a distinguished road
Yes, the Bjorling Turandot with Leinsdorf conducting on RCA is definitely a "desert island" CD, perhaps the only CD set needed on that desert island!! Pure heaven.
