Bugler is an unknown quantity at this point
Re: Clark Terry

He's a cool guy. I saw him play in Albuquerque in the 70's and he was actually the guy at the door who sold me my ticket. What a mind blower! He was also a good friend of James F. Burke.

Like a great comic, with impeccable timing and wit... Mr Terry is just plain fun to listen to. Puts a smile on my face every time.

Re: Clark Terry

I love Clark Terry. Great clip.

My favorite Clark Terry solo of all time has been my favorite since I was 12 years old. Clark plays the most perfect solo on "U.M.M.G." (Billy Strayhorn tune) on Duke Ellington's album "And His Mother Called Him Bill (Music Of Billy Strayhorn)" from 1967.

My favorite album with Clark will always be "Oscar Peterson Trio + One Clark Terry".

Any other Clark favorites?

Re: Clark Terry

Clark Terry is an amazing player to watch. The economy of movement by Clark is something I have tried to achieve. Sam Krauss was also a big fan of Clark's. Sam said that Clark kept him up nights and Ormandy liked early rehearsals

Re: Clark Terry

Have we heard a bad CT record?

I love the Oscar Peterson Trio+1 album. Brotherhood of Man!!!! Indeed.
And how bout the Battle Hymm of the Repuiblic on the CT record wih Bob Brookmyer.

And then there is the record of CT, Roy and Diz from Montreux 1975.
