They were- Larry Gillespie Freddie Hendricks Nabaté Isles Jack Walrath Waldron Ricks Jimmy sounded fabulous on that Alexander rotary flugel. His arrangement of the oldie"Blue and Boogie" was a display of his great arranging chops. The trumpet section really shone when each one of the players got their own solo space to stretch out. Charlie Persip and Paul West were there from Dizzy earlier bands. ............And the price was a bargain by NYC standards. It was an enjoyable night out. Wilmer | |
