| Dizzy's Influence ! My love for the sounds of the trumpet first catapulted in 1961 after seeing and listening to Dizzy & Clark Terry playing togethet at Carnegie Hall,NYC. 45 years later,this is what I read after turning on this Dell thing-a-ma-jig: "Alison Balsom, 27, who infiltrated the male-dominated world of brass players at the age of 8 after she was inspired by Dizzie Gillespie, was one of three British winners in a ceremony dominated by talent from America, Norway, Spain, Germany and Italy.
