I have been saying over and over the DHC is not necessary to a player to have a career in music for a trumpet player.........I wonder if Phil Smith has ever been asked to play one.
I am a 72 year old musician who plays the trumpet. I am not the product old an "Old Boys" network. In 1962, I was the first trumpet player to play the Haydn Concerto with the Philadelphia Orchestra. In 1965, I was the first Black Musician hired by the Baltimore Symphony. When I moved to NYC in 1970, I played trumpet in many different groups. I recorded with Weather Report ........and The Village People! I played with the NY Philharmonic and the Brooklyn Philharmonic.
I work because I can play the darn horn...........and you Markie?

Wilmer

You don't look 72 years old. Maybe playing the trumpet keeps us young.

Re: Double C............who needs it?

I am finished with this topic. Please read my first post and witness how it was mishandled by some of the posters. They deserve recognition. I am not going to delete this post.
