"The Hot Seat"

It seems like most of my life has been in this chair. I had almost forgotten this PBS logo theme. John Corigliano wrote the music, and the late Bruce Ferden was the conductor of the recording sessions. It doesn't sound like much, but there is a lick written for and played on the D trumpet in this very short logo.
It was a pain because we had to do it live with the tape rolling and do it perfectly.
We did numerous takes............I nailed them all

.........Oh, the show on Lenny is good
Hot Seat stories.......please:)

Re: "The Hot Seat"

Bruce was our conductor in Spokane. If he was in the wrong mood, he could turn any chair into a hot seat!

Brasil66 will become famous soon enough
Re: "The Hot Seat"

That stuff is so cool, Wilmer. Do you have any idea who did the trumpet lines in the PBS "Frontline" and "Nova" themes? JC

Bruce was the Asst. Conductor/Keyboard player on "Gigi" when we first met.
Gigi was my first lead gig on Broadway. I even went on the break-in tour of the show, they don't do that much any more.
