![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I have to say it! With the exception of the first trumpet, Mom picked it, I have tried and selected EVERY other trumpet I owned. I have never understood all the questions on the internet about which horn to purchase. I know what I like better than any other trumpet player. I have played hundreds of horns.......I know me, I don't need a committee to select my horns. Get out there and do your own research, you might find YOUR perfect horn. Wilmer

Most Craftmen who promote a certain brand name are precluded from saying they got their axe FREE,from the instrument/company they are promoting.

![]() | Re: I have to say it! For the experienced player, Wilmer's advice is Wise, as usual. :) For inexperienced players it can be helpful to get advice about which horns are most likely to work well in a variety of playing situation. For most trumpet enthusiasts who have developed their ears, the right question to ask is, "What trumpet do I enjoy playing the most?" Does it help me achieve the sound I want and need? If so, that's the one to buy.

![]() | Re: I have to say it! Wilmer, your point is especially valid when you consider that you can have two of the same make and model of horns and they can play very different. I have found this to be especially true of older vintage horns. I agree that it's best to play any horn you buy-every player is different as well and what works for one person may not be ideal for the next player.
