I enjoyed the article about you in the ITG Journal. I was a little confused by the time line and your equipment choices mentioned in the article. When you were playing the Baltimore symphony what mouthpiece/trumpet did you use? Was it after you left to play shows in NYC that you switched to the 7D/E 72 bell Bach set up?

I always used larger equipment. I played a 1C screw-rim set with the Baltimore Symphony. I was experimenting with a Schilke 24 when i came to NYC. Ernie Royal and Bernie Glow were playing 72* horns, I sort of joined the throng. I bought Jim Tinsley's LB 72* horn. The body of the horn is regular weight.
I played a 7E mouthpiece for about ten minutes. It worked for Ernie, not Wilmer
I am not much of a gearhead.
