Joe Wilder at the Jazz Museum in Harlem

The "Harlem Speaks" talks at the Jazz Museum are a fantastic glimpse at the rich history of the music. Joe was there in the 40s. His is quite a story.

Kareem Abdul Jabbar is speaking there on my birthday, December 21. I think I'll go hang with the big guys

I love Joe's straight talk to the kids especially his response on drugs and how it does NOT enhance one's musical ability/creativity.

Have fun O Wise One and do ask #33 about a cat out of Brooklyn (Boy's High School) named Jumpin' Jackie Jackson.
I'm sure Earl the Pearl would be in that joint as Small's Paradise (co-owned by Wilt ) is in that area and was a favorite watering hole after those hot summer hoops at the Rucker Park/Polo Grounds.
