Thanks, Wilmer. Dang, Lee was something, especially in those early days. (I sometimes think his tone was never the same after about 1963). But he was a lightning bolt. All in need to know about Youtube are these wonderful links you keep posting. Michael Mclaughlin

This one is too good not to pass on to the TM group! http://youtube.com/watch?v=VDbrxLz20...elated&search= Thanks for the "Dutch Treat" O Wise One. The audience applause and song title tells me it was recorded Live in Holland. Do you have any clips of Kenny Dorham,Carmell Jones,Joe Shepley, Jack Sheldon, Virgil Jones,Chuck Mangione, Marvin Stamm,Jimmy Owens ? Should you not have one on Jimmy,I'll be seeing him on Nov 4 at the Univ of Pitt. Timmons is here too. Bobby was a master at the Blues. I wasn't around when Avery Parrish was doing his thing but having followed Bobby for years,no one can deny the gems he contributed to this thing we love and call jazz. I must admit to personal prejudice here, in my close to 45 years of witnessing and listening to trumpeters,Lee Morgan and Freddie Hubbard are titans. I'll always remember those cats for their daring attacks, their thrilling improvisations and compositions that imaginatively embrace rhythm and romance. When was the last time you listened to Here's Lee Morgan and his take on "I'm a Fool to Want You ?" That song always make me cry in my vino. Keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars. KJ in the 'Burgh

...the last session album.... man, that thing changed my life and my angle on music. when i first heard 'angela', and most especially 'croquet ballet'; then later i finally understood what was going on in 'inner passions out'. incredible....if anyone wants to doubt what lee morgan means to jazz, and to trumpet playing, listen to his storytelling on 'croquet ballet'. his playing on that is like jet li's fearless!!! everything that he ever had to say was said there. and i still cant help but to imagine what he would've been playing further into the 70s. i ask him to play for me every now and again, but he usually just laughs, or tells a joke. but i'm going to get it out of him one of these days. but, yeah. thanks lee morgan for his light and continuing guidance.
