Mr.Willard,thanks for that beautiful post about Mr.Belgrave .
It is interesting to learn that Mr.Belgrave is related to Mr.Cecil Payne (Bari) of Crown Heights Brooklyn,NY.
Although I've seen them together during the early 1960's off Eastern Parkway with Kenny Dorham, I never made that connection.

Check out the solos on Davie Newmans album Hard times. Belgrave playsa some real slick licks on the tune werid beard

Thanks for the recommendation,however,my album of "Still Hard Times" list Charlie Miller as the trumpeter.
Mr.Belgrave plays trumpet and flugelhorn on another Newman recording titled "Resurgence."

Did the Masked Announcer (Joel Dorn) get it wrong ?
