![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Marlboro I spent the last four days at the Marlboro Music Festival. It was just what I needed. This is one of THE most serious music venue in the world. The talk was about Music, not technique. Not once did I heard musicians comparing musicians. Some of the greatest musicians of all times have been there at various points in their careers. I played in an orchestra led by Pablo Casals. Participated in groups with a teen-aged Yo Yo Ma. Played at a Marcel Moyse masterclass..........I am one of the few trumpet players he heard at his classes. I played Hindemith for and with Rudolf Serkin. It is as close to musical heaven as it gets. I suspect Ed Carroll is trying for the same lofty haven for trumpet players that strings, winds, singers and pianists have at Marlboro. Wilmer
