I'm trying out a new horn. My Bb was made in 1975.
It's time.
More news by tomorrow afternoon.

Re: More News

I'm curious to hear what you come up with, Wilmer.

I'm starting to practice for the first time since forever and a new Bb might be in my future as well. . .might as well learn how to play one of those silly things.

Best,
EC

Wilmer,

Is it possible for you to document the selection process you, as a professional musician goes through when selecting a new trumpet. We rank amateurs have too many uneducated premises, and too little knowledge (in general) to often make "Wise.." choices. Your mental process would be, at least for me, a revelation.

Re: More News

Dear Mr. Wise,
Have you at this stage of your career tried most of what is available for professionals and have a pretty good idea of what you want? Additionally, do you think that if you inspect the trumpet, that buying used is a good way to save some money without sacrificing quality?
Thank you,
Bob

I was pretty sure yesterday that the new horn would work, but I didn't want to rush things.
I have been at it with the horn most of today ........I really dig this horn!

New York Trumpet Company - Stage 1 New York 7 Bb Trumpet

It is a younger version of the horn I have been playing. My horn is in silver, just like the old Bach 72.
