![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Mutes I don't really know how many I have I am working on a piece written by Ulysses Kay that calls for a solo-tone and a straight mute in one of the movements. My Shastock solo-tone is much, much better than the Humes and Berg mutes I have. You can go nuts with straight mutes, they all seem to have some positive qualities. Decisions, decisions, decisions Wilmer

![]() | Re: Mutes My mute collection is around 90 and constantly growing! Wilmer, have you tried the Walt Johnson solo-tone? I believe that he calls it the "Gatsby mute". Apparently Rod Baltimore carries them. I have a friend who just bought the Harmon and LOVES it!

![]() | Re: Mutes Awesome! Let us know how the Johnson mutes play. I am really considering just buying them all, if for nothing else to add to the collection! The solo-tone and insertable bucket sound really awesome!
