New Challenges

I realized yesterday, after spending most of the day with Jimmy Owens, how complacent I have become. He has some butt-kicking exercises that require not only the physical, but also the mental side of trumpet playing. He is getting a book together. We worked on scales.
I have spent the morning doing some of the things we worked on, and I feel great.
I am taking my signature to heart
Wilmer

Re: New Challenges

Sometimes I sit in with a wind band playing the oboe part on my picc(when my daughter has too much homework and can't be there). Last week Alfred Reeds' Armenian Dances were up - a real brain stretcher too!

It is real cool to see Wilmer struggling with similar issues - and DOING something about it!

I'm so happy it is 'Milan Is Love' you spent time with rather than Arthur Murray :) ... can't wait to see you dancing with the stars.

By the way, during the court session you recently held in Harlem,I observed that Bobbi Humphrey's name was on the program.
Lee spoke highly of her and I hadn't seen or spoken to her since her circa 1974 Schaefer Beer Concert in Central Park.
Schaefer is the one beer to have when you are having more than one.
