The Festival of New Trumpet Music presents Bobby Bradford the 2009
Award of Recognition at Jazz Standard - Oct. 1st - 4th, 2009.

FONT celebrates the extraordinary contributions Bobby Bradford has made to the creative music community for over fifty years: his clarion sound on both the trumpet and cornet, the conceptual vibrancy of his improvisations and compositions, and the gentle wisdom of his mentorship to countless artists. Come out and see his master present his music at a rare NY club appearance

Bobby Bradford Octet
featuring David Murray, fellow trumpeter Baikida Carroll, Benny Powell on trombone, and James Weidman on piano.

That sounds great! Bobby hit the London scene as well, especially with the wonderful percussionist John Stevens.... and I had a lovely chat recently about him with Vinnie Golia. Taylor has asked me to FONT, and I have to get it together to hit NY!
