Re: Now this is brand new

I saw Miles and his band quite often in the sixties. Many times Miles would play the head of a tune and then leave the stage to sit in the club and listen.
I was sitting next to Miles one night at the Showboat when a guy came over to him and asked "Why aren't you up there?" Miles stared at the poor guy and said, "I got the best ****in' band in the world, I just want to hear them"
I think the guy got the message. Forget the Benny Goodman "Ray," Miles had the scariest glare of all times.

Re: Now this is brand new

I think this was a Miles Davis video that has been removed. This thread is more than a year old.

"Miles had the scariest glare of all times."

It's always the guys that weigh a hundred pounds, soaking wet. That'd cut your throat, to look at ya.

-It stands to reason Miles was prone to exhibit psychotic disposition; given his infatuation with a balanced sound. It makes you wonder when he was posturing in display, and when he was intent to disappear in a supposed, non-descript signature. Or balanced sound, void of high & low.

I suppose this is the mark of an artist attempting to remove themselves from the art. Seems chaotic to try.
