Pivot system, tilts and something more...

I found about Donald S. Reinhardt's Pivot system just recently, here on TM. My teacher always told me to do as little as possible mouvements. I always wondered why I didn't appear to do much (if any at all) horn or mouthpiece tilts. The answer appeared to me just in the last couple of days:

Because I was compensating this with lower jaw movements.
They are of course rather imperceptible to the observer. In fact, the idea of moving forward the lower jaw in order to line up the teeth is not strange to me. What I realized the last few days is that in the extreme high register (above high C) I was moving the lower jaw further in order to get a higher pitch. Of course there is a tongue movement and increased lip compression...But it was interesting to observe the jaw movements. This is not DIY somekind of DIY magic and I do not pretend, that this will make anyone else play a double C let alone tripple D (myself I am far away from it). Pivot principle seems to have different facets. Just an observation.
