Re: Roger Voisin-R.I.P.

He did a masterclass at NEC a few years ago. Playing Charlier for him was something I'll always remember. He was incredibly charismatic and some great stories to tell, in addition to having great comments for everyone who played for him. Thanks for passing this along, Wilmer.

Re: Roger Voisin-R.I.P.

His "Music for Trumpet and Orchestra" LPs were a big part of my teenage years. As a college student I got to hear him do "quiet city" on tour with the BSO.
RIP.

Re: Roger Voisin-R.I.P.

Roger played off to the side. When I found this out I decided I was ok with it in my own playing and should not be so concerned. When I met him at ITG I mentioned this to him and we had a great conversation about embouchure formation. He was a very nice man and had lots of attention once people saw his name tag.

Re: Roger Voisin-R.I.P.

Wow - a real loss to the trumpet world! My first private teacher studied with him, and never had anything but amazing things to say about him. John ended up working as a lead player, but counted his lessons with Roger as a great influence. My condolences to his family, as well.
