| Schilke S32 or Getzen 3001MV I am considering buying a new trumpet and I am at a loss to make a decision. I love Jazz (Smooth Jazz). Could some one please advise which would be a better choice for mostly Jazz and maybe some classical? Thanks |

| Re: Schilke S32 or Getzen 3001MV I have a Yamaha 8335, but it does not have a reverse lead and the valves tend to stick during practice (even though I wipe and oil after every practice). I practice almost every night, but find that one day it seems to flow and the next day it's a struggle to play. I still love playing my Trumpet... Thanks for the advice... |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Schilke S32 or Getzen 3001MV Valves are made out of metal, and if they hang, there is always a "fixable" reason. Contaminants in the horn, lint from your cloth used for "wiping down", pressing the valves at an angle like Wilmer said (this is very common for players that do not push the valves with the tips of their fingers) or perhaps even a mechanical defect (VERY, VERY seldom with Yamaha) all are reasons. Have had this looked at? You mention thinking about a new horn, what does it need to do that your Yamaha does not? |

| Re: Schilke S32 or Getzen 3001MV Thanks for the goods advice...I cleaned the valve that was sticking a second time and it made a difference. I am also aware of using the tips of my fingers. My Yamaha is a very good horn, but it does not have a reverse lead, and to be honest I always wanted a Schilke with there famous Valves. Thanks again for the good advice. |
