Sunday Morning at iTunes

I was taking a break from my morning practice session, when it dawned on me that I hadn't checked iTunes for copy of a CD that I didn't have. I was looking for "Jesus Blood Never Failed Me Yet." This is a strangely hypnotic piece.
I remember doing it at "Looking Glass Studio. There it was on iTunes
Then I had a brainstorm, I looked up Ed Carroll. He has a fair amount of stuff on that site.
You can get some surprises at iTunes.

Hey Wilmer,

I actually own the Gavin Bryars CD that you mentioned. It's a great piece, and the CD is wonderfully done. I noticed several years ago that your name was in the CD credits, and I thought "huh...I've e-mailed with that guy before!"

Wilmer- I found a few hits for that on iTunes. Which one do you recommend? The Gsvin Bryons or the Miniatures vol I and II?

Funny I was thinking about this Seurat painting the other day while listening to cornet solos. I don't think I've seen this CD before.

I have Jesus Blood... CD. It is so incredibly emotional. In the liner notes Gavin said that he left the recording of the tramp singing on while he went to lunch, and when he got back there was a small crowd of people standing around the room with tears in their eyes.

You played on it? Did Tom Waits go to that recording, or was he added in later?

I played on the version with Tom Waits. At the end of the dates, as usual, they brought out this screaming solo piccolo part that seemed to go on forever. It was done at Philip Glass' studio. Waits was not at the date. Very rarely do singers actually show up a recording session, it is easier to overdub than to sing live.
