Wilmer,

Do you know if a recording of this piece exists? I think I need it for my collection.

I was reading a compilation of Maynard Ferguson interviews from "Down Beat" magazine and it mentions that Maynard played the premier.

I think the Philharmonic was offering the recording as a Subscription gift at one time. Check with them.

Welcome to the Paul Cacia Official Website

Click "Trumpet Anatomy"

"Maynard Ferguson"

Scroll down to the media player and it'll have the third movement of Titan Symphony.

There is a recording of the NY Phil with Maynard playing, and I believe a recording of the CSO with Bud Brisbois.

WOW! Thank You.
That is some piece. I'll look around for a recording from the suggested sources. I guess this doesn't get played very often?

I ordered Bernstein Live from amazon. We'll see if it shows up.

Re: The Titans by William Russo

I just discovered this piece on a 10 disc set called Bernstein Live. They have it in our campus library. It's Maynard playing with the NY Phil. I hope you can find it.

gchun is an unknown quantity at this point
Re: The Titans by William Russo

There is a single cd sampler of Bernstein Live that includes The Titans if you're not interested in the entire 10 cd collection.
