Trumpet Toys

I got three new mutes for Christmas from Allan Colin.
2 Brass Spa mutes, a practice mute and a straight mute. He also gave me a Stomvi straight mute.
I am having fun with the practice mute, it's like a Renuzit mute.
The straight mutes are loud.....wow.
What did you get for your horn?
Wilmer

Re: Trumpet Toys

With my family embarassed for me (my "single" tpt case used to be nice. Light brown, suede material on the outside. Handles on the front and end. Over time, a cat my kids took in decided it would make a great scratching post...the handle on the side broke off on one side...the front handle lost it's padded section), so they got me a nice, light, Pro Tec single case. I sure needed it.

Now, if I can work on getting a flugel/tpt dbl case - since mine has such a lovely "duct-taped" handle, held together with a folded wire coat hanger!..... Highly used...for sure...!!!

I'll have to check out those mutes, Wilmer.

Re: Trumpet Toys

Nothing trumpet related, but it is music related. I received a (RED) Ipod Nano. What is special about product (RED) is that anything purchased under this label will donate funds to Africa for AIDS. So, I love my Ipod and I also feel good that my gift donated to a worthy cause.

Re: Trumpet Toys

I received nothing trumpet-wise.

However, I started my daughter out on her classical music collection. She's 13 and been dancing since she was 4, and she plays cello.

Copland w/Bernstein, Holst w/Karajan and Monteaux, Beethoven 9 w/Solti, "Heavenly Spheres," Christopher Jackson and Montreal early music folk doing some Palestrina, and Mozart with Marriner and St. Martins.

I wrote a little note on each CD giving her a "here's Daddy's 25 words why this is wonderful and great."

I let her hear some Alison Balsom the other day and showed her Miss Balsom's website. Helen was stoked.

She was very excited about the presents!

Regards,

Richard Oliver

Re: Trumpet Toys

For the first time in a long time I didn't get anything trumpet related. I did get a nice external hard drive to store all of my music and photos on. I'll probably be spending my Christmas money from relatives on a Warburton piece.

Now you just need a matching red gig bag for those purty Eclipse trumpets and you'll be completely turned out. ;)
