| Re: What if.......... Now, ya see, Wilmer... ... for me, that clip TOTALLY makes the case against rap. That little bit of video has more to offer than anything I've ever seen from the rap crowd. It has energy, rhythm, the groove, creativity, and you can't take your eyes off it. Veritable booty-shaking material, that. That was great... thanks for putting that up. I wish we could get more kids involved in that instead of the usual you see these days. ML |

There was one point in one of the concerts where Roy was playing a solo on this tune from their first record (the one where it starts off minor, then half way through builds to major and gets really bluesy) and I felt like I was in the middle of a huge church congregation. Everyone was on their feet yelling Amen and the like and he built and built and built until he exploded into this super dirty blues solo for the major section. I don't think there was a single person in the audience who wasn't touched emotionally by the performance. The first time RH factor played the Toronto Jazz Festival he played for free to close the festival. It was packed. |

| Re: What if.......... Wilmer Did you ever play with Langston Fitzgerald. I studied with him for two years after you left Morgan State. The thought of you two heavy weights in the same section. |

| Re: What if.......... I like Roy Hargrove's playing. Nobody quite sounds like he does. Few times I went to see him he was so inebriated he could barely stand up on his own. While back I did a gig with him in a student group and he kept trying to score weed from some of the kids. Heard it with my own ears. No joke. I hope he straigtened up his act. |
