I wouldn't like to be the people sitting right in front of the saxes...

Wow they are tight. It is like a synth is playing the shots. No one is missing a cut off.

Re: Who are these guys?

Nice tight group. Yeah, I bet those folks in front of the sax section didn’t get much conversation in during that band’s performance. Also, how nice to see a band do a gig sans tux. Man, almost every gig I play I have to wear a damn tux. That crap is just too old. But I digress. Again, nice group.

Thanks for the site... see the results of what happens when the USA
export(ed) MUSIC rather than GUNS through our State Department ?
Big Band & Bebop music on Armed Forces Radio was all it took to get our message out to the WORLD.

LOL- how about we old timers who during the 60s sat in the second row of the Village Vanguard while Thad & Mel Band was performing and who got a drenching from the trumpet section that stood in the 2nd/3rd row ?

Re: Who are these guys?

It's "frevo".... we just can't say it's jazz because a big band is playing it.

Frevo - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Brazil has some incredible "dance band" musicians. The bands that play for most of the carnival balls will blow you away. I remember attending for the first time as an adult (after musical training) ... I just stopped dancing and stood there listening in amazement.

It's a big world out there...

Re: Who are these guys?

I thought they sounded great. But...does anybody here believe that WASN'T a studio recording, and the band "lip-synching" the video (with crowd noise added)?

Again, not to take anything away from the band. They sound awesome.
