![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Woody Shaw tribute It was quite an event. Sean Jones and Ryan Kisor played their rear ends off I sat there with my mouth wide open, I was inspired by their performances of Woody's material. These are two seriously bad trumpet soloists! Victor Lewis, David Williams and Larry Willis were as fine a rhythm section as you can get. The performance was "Jazz Forum: Remembering Woody Shaw," at BMCC's Tribeca Performing Arts Center. You should have been there.....................Wynton was Wilmer

We in the 'Burgh and the students at Duquesne University are so very happy to have Sean as a resident in the City of Champions. Never had the privilage in seeing Mr.Kisor in a 'live' setting but look forward in seeing him and his horn in the three rivers area sooner rather than later. Give my regards to Mr.Willis* and the good folks in the Fort Apache Band. * First met Larry during my Senior year (1965) at NYU with two Philadelphians, one with a trumpet named Lee Morgan and the other was a Workman,a very hard and most talented Workman whom they called Reggie. Long Live BOP & the Boppers. I Morgan.
