yamaha trumpet day in nyc

anyone planning on going to this - let me know and maybe we ccan hang - Cheers, Spitty

On December 6th, 2005, Yamaha will be holding its second Day of Trumpets at the Yamaha Artist Services Facility in New York City. The success of the last Trumpet Day has prompted Yamaha to offer this exciting free event again to the public. This time, Day of Trumpets will feature clinics by Sean Jones, Nicholas Payton and Robert Sullivan, Associate Principal Trumpet of the Cleveland Symphony Orchestra. The day will culminate with a recital by Robert Sullivan.

In addition to the special day of performances and master classes planned, Yamaha will be introducing the latest addition to the Artist Model Series of trumpets, the YTR-9335NYS Bb trumpet. This will be the first place where you will be able to purchase what is sure to be a legendary instrument!

Schedule:

Clinics will be held on the 3rd floor

Sean Jones, Mark Avenue jazz recording artist......1 pm
Robert Sullivan, Cleveland Symphony Orchestra trumpet......2:30 pm
Nicholas Payton, Warner Brothers recording artist........4 pm

Robert Sullivan Recital.........7pm

Open instrument testing will take place from 11:00-1:00 on the 3rd floor. A full range of trumpets can be purchased at special one-day-only pricing. Local dealers will be available to assist you with your purchase.

Sean Jones is one of my all time favorite trumpet players. I met him in 1998 on the SOA tour. He is absolutely amazing.

Guess who gets to stick around and see that they don't screw up the job
I will be at the recital.
