![]() | Re: Amy Hi All, I've got a true Amy story. Years ago I used to play 2nd chair in the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra - the same slot that Amy occupied last year. One of my old trumpet playing friends got called to play second as Amy was replacing the principal for a concert. So I asked my buddy, "How'd it go with Amy,man?" He shot back, "I hated it!" Kinda took me aback so I asked why. He said and I quote "Did you ever sit next to someone who never misses a note ...... ever" I told Amy the story and she got a good laugh out of it. I also had the honour of playing in a brass quartet with her sister Jen, an equally talented euphonium player and guess what? She doesn't miss notes, either. Unlike the lame second trumpet player in the quartet, I am sad to say. The Horveys are an amazingly talented family and really nice people too. Amy truly deserves the award and its a delight to see her get some national recognition. Also, not every good Canadian trumpet player comes out of University of Toronto or McGill Cheers, Brian P.S. Amy's hometown is named for a species of Antelope. That's redneck fer ya!
