Appeal

TMers and guests,

Hello from New Hampshire.

I notice that it's quite common to find 49 of you perusing the site (currently 39 guests and 10 members). It's wonderful that TrumpetMaster is growing in membership and in reputation. There's actually some useful trumpet and trumpet music information to be found here if you're reading carefully, and many friendships and contacts are being made as well. I'm particularly grateful that we've developed into an international community. The power of the internet. Imagine.

I'm writing to ask that more of you take part in the discussions. Everyones voice matters, even those with little knowledge of the subject at hand. I know that the temptation to lurk is tremendous but we need your contributions as well. Every comment/suggestion from a member triggers a thoughtful response (well, most of the time) and our community benefits.

Guests, please register and join us. I'll leave a light on for you.

Best,
EC

I can echo Ed's sentiments. Given the tendency for some threads to degenerate from time to time while true experts comment and "self-proclaimed experts" denigrate, there is a natural reluctance on the part of anyone who realizes how little they may actually know about these subjects to make comment. It is, indeed, a fine line for the mouse to speak up when the elephants are dancing (although some elephants are much lighter on their feet than others).

Still, it is necessary even if only to seek clarification or additional information. We quickly learn who IS knowledgeable on any subject and who is simply "blowin' smoke". I have also noticed (thanks to the features in the new format) how many people are checking things out and it's a heck of an improvement from two or three years ago when TM was first founded.

Come on out to "Wednesday Night is Chat Night" and introduce yourself; you'll soon find that most people in chat are much more friendly and approachable than you may have perceived from their posts....(perhaps it's the immediacy of the communication that causes that ). Once you're more comfortable with some of the posters it's far easier to actually post, either to reply OR to question or comment.

Keep smilin'.

Ed,

When are the CD's and DVD's coming out from Chosen Vale.

I bet if people get to check them out like I have (WOW WOW WOW WOW WOWOW) more folks would really think about WHY they are playing.

I have some new files to send to you. I'll send you an e-mail later.

Cheers,

t

Re: Appeal

ttt.... I'm coming out of lurking to let everyone know just how amazing these discs are. I can't wait to check out more of CV this summer... even if it means sleeping in a tent outside of the building ;)

Chosen Vale and the spirit of the seminar is extremely inspiring... it is where the future of contemporary music for the trumpet gets to shine!

wow.

Re: Appeal

Hi Ed,

I've been a lurker for quite some time, and truly enjoy your thoughts and ideas. Thanks! Hoping to be more "visibly" active in the future.
