![]() | College Degree threads TMers, I've just returned from an afternoon of errands to find that all posts, including the originals, in the four College Degree threads have been with drawn by the author. It's a pity that some sort of off topic argument escalated into this. I feel that I'm somehow to blame for not being on call 24/7 to defuse these things (a first in this forum). I truly appreciate Noonan's comment in the final thread: " I have enjoyed this forum because you keep the focus on the creative process, new music, listening, how to practice better, and how to enlarge your vision as an artist and musician. That's what I find inspiring, and it is these types of discussions that have drawn people so interested into this forum." TrumpetMaster, over time, can become a true resource center for our community to enjoy and learn from. I know that I have. I have deleted all remaining posts in these threads and have closed them. I'm saddened as there was some pretty good information and dialogue presented within but it obviously had strayed far off topic and away from what Noonan and others, including myself, enjoy here. Onward, EC |

| Re: College Degree threads I have to say bummer too. This was one of the first threads I really connected with when I read it. It was of great interest for me. Ed, could you maybe author a post about finding a college job? The original poster had some great points, and although I know there was some controversy regarding him on the oTHer site, I thought his posts were great and really informative. Anyway, I hope this thread gets reborn soon because the information that was coming out from all posters was really great. Thanks to asd for the idea to start with. It was a good one..... Best Matt |

I echo Noonan's comments completely. You have given me new perspectives with which to consider many things, and I continue to learn far more than I can contribute here. And you are in no way to blame for not being online 24/7 - you have a life to live, and work to do, and we are all the better off because you do those things! You agreed to be a moderator, not a nursemaid - there is no good reason any of us should expect instant responses and immediate attention. (Of course, that doesn't mean we don't all believe we are the center of the universe at some point in time But please, feel no guilt - and keep up the excellent work! Best, Sandy

| Re: College Degree threads Boy - I left town for one day and came home looking forward to seeing the posts on these threads. Too bad they've been removed. I too thought there was good information there. |

| Re: College Degree threads Wow, I come to these a little late and see only smoking debris and locked and withdrawn threads. Must have been a hell of a topic! Michael McLaughlin Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter. Mark Twain (Geez, I hope this is true!) |

| Re: College Degree threads yeah, it was getting really interesting. it was a glimpse of the potential darkness in a given situation. I was actually looking forward to everyone else’s opinions... -Kelly |

"titillating" that's for sure which is what you might have meant by "interesting," or they're close enough that it's a push. I sort of feel guilty in such situations. Don't want to look, but can't keep myself from reading to see what's going to happen. See, at that point, the exchange of meaningful information has taken a back seat to the impending crash and burn. There're several coarse analogies that are apt. Best left unsaid. I for one really dislike the duration that exists and what transpires while the rope is being doled out and eventually one is hoisted by his own petard. Icky mixed metaphor. TY also to all the music teachers!! Richard Oliver
