| Forte User | Re: Guerrier's Haydn Dave, For you and all who did not know this: the very name "cornet" derives from "cor", "corne" (I believe ancient french) or "cornus" (latin) which (the first one) is the french word for french horn, and actually means as small horn (french horn or more probably small post horn). For those who want more info check Cornet - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia where you will find more additional info.

![]() | Re: Guerrier's Haydn Freddie Hubbard studied a bit of French Horn.... and (new sentence and not in the same breath!!) I did too.... it sure helped placing those pedal notes on the trumpet.... ah! A comment about how low we can play!

![]() | Re: Guerrier's Haydn David´s fantastic, and confident, his strongest quality for me is seeing the piece as a whole, and not worrying in the least bit about tiny imperfections. Holding the hand on the bell like that gives it the sound some people are craving for in the late 20th and early 21st century (I´ll mention no manufacturer´s names!!).
